Moken Sea Gypsies and their underwater Adaption
The Moken people of Thailand have lived for centuries as hunters of the ocean. They hunt with traditional methods, using no modern day equipment. The Moken people have spent so much time in the water that they have developed the ability to see clearly underwater. There vision is twice as good as normal human vision. Normal human vision underwater is blurry do to the combination of water and oxygen which reduces the refractive power of the eye's corneal surface. This refractive power is what allows humans to see clearly. The Moken people have developed the ability to change the muscular shape of their eye lens allowing them to see more clearly underwater.
